Young Balkan Designers at Salone Satellite 2022
Fiera Milano, Rho / Hall 1-3 / Booth B02-C01
At the Salone Satellite of International Furniture Fair in Milan 2022, Mikser presents the winners of its signature competition Young Balkan Designers whose projects enhance human well being by engaging all senses, addressing neglected needs, or introducing quite surprising and unexpected functionalities. Reflecting thoughts on circularity and regeneration of local Balkan skills and resources, Young Balkan Designers’ solutions surpass dependency on massive industrial production and pave the way for sustainable, simple, affordable and personalised solutions with positive environmental, economic, cultural and societal impact.
Young Balkan Designers show at Salone Satellite is a part of the Balkan Design in Milan initiative which connects all relevant design presentations of Balkan companies and design collectives during Milan Design Week 2022. After its world premiere at Salone Satellite and Salone del Mobile in Milan, the best of Young Balkan Designers will be presented to the regional audience in October 2022 in Belgrade, at Mikser Festival, one of the Balkan’s most relevant regional festivals of creativity and social innovation.
Young Balkan Designers exhibition at Salone Satellite 2022 is organised by cultural organisation Mikser with the support of members of the informal Balkan Design Network: Nunc, Zanat, Gir, Prostoria, Boreal, Numen ForUse, Zornica Kuca, Belgrade’s Faculty of Forestry and Museum of Applied Arts.
